L'alto e massiccio portone di ingresso si apre lentamente. Ed ecco che appare, nell'ampia volta ad arco, una maestosa lanterna. Pare un astrolabio, "che prende le stelle" per illuminare il buio. Ecco a voi le meravigliose lanterne di Jamb Limited, in tutta la loro bellezza.

Nell'avanzare lungo l'androne la luce fioca di lontano si fa più nitida, luminosa. I gelidi vetri della lanterna paioni cristalli. All'interno, una piccola luce vi si specchia.
Le lanterne degli ingressi. Paiono mondi sovrastanti, sfere che dominano la terra. L'occhio le cerca, attraverso i cancelli, le grate sopra i portoni, le finestre dei cortili. E quando esse si mostrano, non può che aprirsi un sorriso, sulle labbra quanto negli occhi.

Walking through the hall the weak light becomes clearer and brighter. The cold glasses of the lantern seem crystals. Inside, a small light is mirrored in them.
Lanterns of the entrances. They seem world overlooking the Earth, dominant globes. The eye looks for them, through the gates, the grid on top of the doors, through the windows of the courts. And as soon as they appear, a smile rises on lips as in the eyes.
Magnificent, elegant, noble. So massive and yet so gentle and light. Light and grace bearer, they welcome, enhancing with refinement each hall.
